- Section 2.2 (Graphs of Functions) uses interval notation to identify the domain and range from a function’s graph.
- Section 4.1 (Solving Linear Inequalities) uses interval notation to express solution sets.
- Section 4.3 (Equations and Inequalities Involving Absolute Value) solves absolute value inequalities using equivalent compound inequalities rather than boundary points. With the section’s focus on this one method, the pace has been both slowed down and expanded.
